A wild sea otter mom, seeking shelter from stormy seas, gave birth to a pup in the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Great Tide Pool Saturday afternoon as visitors and staff looked on. On Sunday, mom and pup are resting in the Great Tide Pool, where they continue to delight onlookers with amazing opportunities to see this rare occurrence. It’s the second time since December that a mother otter has used the sheltered waters as a “birthing center”.
