A new horse is in the neigh-borhood to help celebrate #NationalEquestrianDay. The Pacific seahorse is the only seahorse native to California waters, ranging from San Diego south to Peru. The only catch with these colorful horses of the sea is you have to dive to see them. Unless, of course, you visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s newest exhibition, ¡Viva Baja! Life on the Edge, where aquarium staff successfully raised a herd behind the scenes. Check out the latest batch of these foals, or fry rather, recently birthed by the males. (We’re not horsing around, it’s the males that carry and birth the babies.)
